Tesco tends to have a very decent selection of alcohol and the club card prices give them the competitive advantage in my opinion. I tend to base my selection the club card deals which can be quite good and they always have whatever I’m looking for. Particularly champagne deals can be pretty great!

Being back in the bubbles saddle after 9 months out I was absolutely thrilled that Tesco had its 25% off the bank holiday of my due-date. Choosing six (I always end up buying more) bottles of wine is easy as they have a great selection. Prosecco is my go-to and I really enjoy their “I heart Prosecco†bubbles. I also choose a white and blush pino - again there are loads to choose from and going into the most expensive time of my life, coupled with only dismal maternity pay, these deals offer fantastic value and a great selection . Even when this particular deal isn’t on they still offer gear wines on Clubcard and being a new mum, this is great for me. Also thanks to wine direct for letting me know when the deals are on!)

The 25% discount of 6 wines is decent along with the Clubcard offers too. The range is obviously better at the larger stores and I like to get a mix of some more expensive wines knowing there is the 25% discount and a mix of cheaper guilt free open a bottle anytime type wines to fill the wine rack.

Bulk wine buying should be reserved for the '25% off for 6+ btl offers'. SERIOUS savings can be made especially on quality wines already on offer. For example, Louis Jadot Macon Villages on offer from 12.50 to 10.00 then reduced to 7.50 for 6+ btls should be snapped up! Special note should be made of the EXCELLENT Sangiovese Appassimento 'Aprimondo' - this is a high quality wine which I bought for less than £7 recently.

Standard goods offered, in line with most supermarkets, and prices generally pretty much in line with others too. I like that the aisles are not too close together, shopping at other supermarkets feels like a free for all trying to dodge everyone’s trolleys. There is a fair selection of alcohol in Tesco. They cater for a range of tastes and prices, but there is not a lot of depth. Some variety and the quality is always fine, but it is difficult to find hidden gems. There never seems to be any experts on hand so I always feel a little bit in the dark when trying something new.

I find that Tesco has the most comprehensive Wine selection in my area. There is a fabulous selection of reds, often very competitively priced. The beer selection is perhaps not quite to my taste, but there are plenty of nice ciders to tide me over.

My go to supermarket due to ease of parking and reasonable offers BUT service has become a lot poorer recently with hardly any checkout staff so long queues and the fact that you can only get offers by showing your club card which is a faff. Nothing is simple or easy any more. If Sainsburys carpark didn't have the faff of having to buy a ticket and claim cost back I'd probably shop there instead.

I don't normally shop online for groceries as I prefer to choose in person, but Covid took its toll this year requiring an online shop. Everything was fine except that the of the soups we ordered, 3 of the 4 cans were the wrong variety! Fortunately they were changed/refunded instore when I recovered. We were even able to order items online that are not normally stocked in our local Tesco.When you are isolating with Covid you sure need a comforting pack of smoky bacon crisps!

Tesco has a good selection of wine and beer. Often beer deals are in abundance and wine can be found for 20% off. Not much English wine which is a shame as the standards are constantly being raised. Always a good variety of French and Australia wine. Well

Since Covid we have got all our groceries delivered by Tesco. Their delivery service is excellent and paying for delivery with the Clubcard points you collect makes the service virtually free.
Tesco have a huge range of products and their wines are good quality and great value on their "Clubcard" prices.
Ordering online is dead easy, their delivery drivers are always prompt and polite and if there are any problems Tesco sort them out with minimum hassle.
I would highly recommend this British supermarket for its great balance of quality, value and service.

Most of the time, I'm just looking for a Good deal that falls in the category of red, wet, alcoholic and does not burn holes in my tongue or the carpet. I do not apply this rule to wine wine as I only have Below average friend who drinks white or my special "Rose" so it is always cheapest available. It sits in the fridge, I do know the value of serving it really cold "can't taste it". However there always come a day when I need more fridge space so I take said bottle out and leave it beside the fridge and as if by magic that friend will turn up. Thinking about it I think she really has the nose of a bloodhound but can only smell it as it warms up. One day she obviously had a cold and turned up to announce she now drinks "Rose"..oops, don't worry a shot of my red into her very cold white and she thought it was the nicest "Rose" she had every tasted. Only trouble was she went to Tesco looking for it and by some very strange coincidence they said to her there never was a "Rose" version. I then had to act all coy and tell her they only get it in specially for me...I still can't believe that she has swallowed this story and she still comes round for a glass of my very special "Rose"..

The larger Tesco supermarkets are Good for their selection of wines and spirits however it can sometimes be quite over priced. I don't feel their champagne selection is that Good. I tend to go to Waitrose or Marks and Spencers Food Hall for this.

The Tesco straplines sum up my experience. The Tesco Finest wines and champagne are fine and are Good value for money, particularly when there are deals on. As for the rest of their offering, the wines are generally Good, everyday drinking wines, nothing special but okay for a weekend meal with the family but I guess when your main strapline is "Every Little Helps" you are not really striving for greatness!

Tesco is the ‘marmite’ of all supermarkets. Some love it and will defend it to no end. Others hate it with a passion, loyal only to the green patriotic free holder which berths side by side with ‘JL’. I ‘like’ it. It is convenient. You know what you are going to get, where the items are in the aisles and the staff have a ‘neighbourly’ attitude towards you - polite, happy to see you but not ‘in your face’. I get that there are ‘cheaper’ stores (you know, your European ONES!) but they do not have that uniform tidiness and organised till exchange that Tesco has. I like Tesco. I grew up with Tesco and I respect Tesco. It is the grandfather of superstores which tries to ‘move with the times’ - admittedly does not get it right all the time but will listen to me and accept my needs.

It has a very wide selection of wines suitable for any occasion. I have bought Very good quality affordable wines and also more expensive wines for special celebrations from here. When I order from Tesco's online shop, the wine is always delivered securely and in Good condition. The only downside is that the range of wines does not change very much and it is harder to find more unique or exclusive wines.

Its Good but the staff could do with cracking a smile every now and then. You'd think they were scared it'd break their face. Covid's been rubbish so when we do brave that shopping trip to the local supermarket for that much needed alcoholic beverage after playing teacher and trying our very best to be the perfect housewife (let's face it none of us are 😂) a little smile goes a long way, it at the very least helps us feel less guilty for drinking our body weight in wine and prosecco every week just to get through this whole ordeal!

Well they’re quite Good but I have found a lot of errors because I’m a very careful shopper. I don’t like finding products on the shelf where directly underneath is a price and details of a completely different item. Sometimes offers are left up after they’d expired. Once some member of staff was changing prices whilst people were still shopping. I picked up an item at a certain price but by the time I’d got to the checkout a lady had been around and updated the price or offer making it more expensive. Sometimes their reduction labels don’t cover the barcode so you get charged at full price, offers are sometimes empty on the shelf but to be found at the end of the aisle. Some staff are horrible but it’s convenient and free parking and you can most times get what you want. I sometimes find out of date stuff on the shelves and stuff which should be in the reductions. I could go on but .....

The wines beers and spirits are pretty generic, there is nowhere to try samples and no one to help who knows anything about wine, beer or spirit. If you don't know what you really like then you are much better off going to a specialist, such as majestic wine as they are knowledgable, helpful and enthusiastic about what they do. On the plus side you can also try new things and their prices are as Good as, if not better that Tesco's. Tesco's also have very limited information about their wines, Beers & spirits.
