Surprisingly really enjoyed this champagne. Normally a Pol Roger fan, I picked it up at randomn and it was on offer. A definite new favourite. Easy on the pallette and the perfecr drink to ring in the new year.

In 2006 I bought this as gift to 2 French friends, they praised it that much I have bought it ever since. Makes a good Cassis Royal. Remember different people have different palates.

What is great about Piper Heidsieck is that it has so much Pinot Noir. Pinot Noir- 55-60%, Pinot Meuniers 20-25%, Chardonnay- 10-15%. More Pinot and less Chardonnay than any other big name champagne. Pinot Noir adds body, structure, aroma, and a complexity of flavours.The aroma is one of fresh apples and pears. The taste is full of fruit, a good mouthfeel and a harmonious balance. Bought a 6 bottle case for small celebrations throughout the year. I'm not a wine expert at all but I did enjoy this - it wasn't too, dry had plenty of fuzz and to my palate seemed quite fruity
