The La Clape Wine Region

Contrary to the English, La Clape is not some sort of unwanted disease but rather it translates to "heap of pebbles" which might give you some idea as to the soil. Located in the Languedoc, this appellation was created in 2015. It is coastal, warm and dry which results in wines with ripe flavours from heat tolerant grapes such as Mourvedre. Most production is red, but the white wines made predominantly from Grenache Blanc and Bourboulenc are well sought after here too.
