Corbieres Wine Offers

Corbières is a hilly appellation and an important part of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, being the fourth largest in France. Here, about 90 per cent of production is for their red wines. The final blend must have at least 40 per cent of any of Carignan, Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre and Syrah. The rest is from other allowed varities such as Cinsaut. The wines are generally fairly hefty with full bodies, dark fruits, spices and dried herbs. There is a sub-appelation called Corbières-Boutenac which has much more of a focus on Carignan, Grenache Noir and Mourvèdre. These are best if you are looking for an even heftier wine style. A little bit of white and rose are also made here.
