Curico Valley Wine

Currently, the Curicó Valley’s main reputation is for inexpensive, mass-produced red wines which are easy enough to achieve thanks to the warm, fertile growing conditions in the central part of the valley. Adding to this, there are several rivers giving plentiful irrigation access. This is not uncommon in Chilean wine, but this region probbaly tops the list.

A diverse range of grape varieties are grown, although Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Chardonnay are, perhaps unsurprisingly the most planted. Some producers are now beginning to explore different varieties and more premium styles of wine, making this one region to keep an eye on.
