Laithwaites Advent Calendars 2023

This year the Laithwaites Advent Calendars have returned by popular demand after selling out very quickly the previous year. After all, who doesn’t want a mini wine gift every day in the lead up to Christmas? For me, the obvious choice is the mixed one to get that bit more diversity in what I try. Still, if you go for a white or red only version, you’ll be very pleased with the selection. Classics like Cloudy Bay and Whispering Angel are met with Alsatian excellence from Domaines Schlumberger and outstanding Chablis producers like Bouchard. They have even given the nice touch of a Sauternes on the 24th which would be great for after Christmas pud (if you can save it that long!)

Finally, if a wine calendar won’t do it or you need something different for a loved one, then you can choose between a whisky, rum and gin advent calendar.

Having had similar calendars myself in the past few years, I can definitely recommend them. I’d put a chocolate one alongside of course just to make sure I can get that morning boost. But, whatever liquid you have in there will give you something to look forward to in the evening. The best part is, you don’t have to religiously drink one a night, even though they are small, and can make your calendar treats last well into the new year if you wish.
