Echo Falls Wines

Echo Falls was at one stage the 3rd biggest wine brand in the UK and also huge in America. Hailing from California, the idea of the brand is all about relaxed enjoyment, fun and living the moment. It underwent a bit of a rebrand in 2020, aiming to re-modernise the look that once made the wines so popular. This came after various large retailers began slashing the number of wines in the range on shelves. Now, they are back, but not in the force they once were and seeming to occupy a new spot on the wine shelves, namely fruit-flavoured wines.

What's The Background To Echo Falls?

Echo Falls is a lifestyle brand, which is all about enjoyment, spontaneous occasions, unexpected moments and with a chilled out, relaxed vibe. It’s a brand that is frequently seen on our TV screens, having sponsored the highly popular ‘Come Dine with Me’ TV series and 'Love Island' more recently. It shifted from an old show on endless repeat to a new one for younger generations as you might be able to tell by their fruity new wines.

Originally, Echo Falls was created by a team of Californian winemakers, who wanted to make fresh, fruity, easy-drinking wines, mainly from the central valley in California. They captured modern wine styles and tastes that boomed in the early 2000s with a range of 12 different white, rose and red wines, including a sparkling, plus some innovative Echo Falls spritz cans, for a lower alcohol, refreshing drink.

Their classic range still exists and sells well in the States as well as China, but it is not as regularly seen in Europe, particularly the UK, these days.

What Styles Of Wine Does Echo Falls Make?

Echo Falls is fresh, fruity, refreshing, easy-drinking wines, which are not too challenging and not too complicated. They are made as part of an occasion, not the occasion themselves! The whites are fresh, and lively, ranging from dry, to off-dry; the Roses offer the classic Californian medium sweet fruity pink style, whilst the reds are soft, low tannin with lots of juicy, jammy fruit to the fore.

The range starts with a simple Echo Falls Red, Echo Falls White and the Echo Falls Rose blends. The red is soft and juicy, the white, medium dry and fruity, and the rose offers a medium sweet style. Simple, easy, and approachable.

The white wine range covers our favourite white grape varieties – Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. The focus is on fruitiness, liveliness and enjoyment. The Pinot Grigio has a gentle, floral and delicate fruit character and the Sauvignon a zesty, citrussy tang, whilst the Chardonnay has a richer, smoother, but still soft tropical fruit tang.

Echo Falls red wine range follows a similar style, in that they focus on the chill out, easy-drinking, soft and juicy style. There are 2 varietals, a plummy, juicy Merlot and a warm, velvety, spicy Shiraz.

The Rose wine range has the classic Echo Falls White Zinfandel, the quintessential rose from California; medium sweet, with juicy, strawberry fruit flavours. The Echo Falls Pinot Grigio Rose is a soft, off dry Rose, with a fresh style whilst the Echo Falls White Grenache is delicate, crisp and packed with red fruits and rhubarb meringue.

Echo Falls Fruit Fusions & Botanical Fusions

These are the newcomers that have put Echo Falls back on the map and given them a new place in the market. No longer fighting with the hundreds of generic brands, Fruit Fusions and Botanical Fusions bring a bit of a twist to winemaking and make them more customisable and fruitier than ever! They also make great low alcohol alternatives.

I have been making my own wine from kits for several years, but I now find that I can buy Echo falls wine , even cheaper than I can make it, without the hassle. Anyone want to buy wine making equipment. ??? lol.
