Stag's Leap

Stags Leap is one of the most famous and premium wine regions within the Napa Valley, producing some of finest Cabernet Sauvignons in the world, and one of the first Napa areas to be granted its own AVA.

It is situated in a sub valley between a series of small peaks, just north of Napa town, off the Valley floor, and benefitting from the cooler breezes and famous ‘Napa fog’, which rolls in from the bays. The free-draining, alluvial and clay soils benefit the cabernet Sauvignon, which is able to produce world class wines in these conditions. It was a Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars Cabernet, which famously beat the Bordeaux competition at the 1976 Judgement of Paris.
