The Indian Seafood Experience from Trishna requires bright fresh white wines, but robust enough to be able to match the spices used. A citric, fresh hoppy lager is also a good alternative if you don't feel like drinking wine.
My recommendations are firstly the famous wine from the fish dominant gastronomy of Galicia in northern Spain, Rias Baixas Albariño. Majestic have the excellent Villarei 2018 for £12.99. Crisp, citric but with an intense mineral and ripe fruit mid-palate and a nice bright finish.
A good alternative, from Majestic Wine again, would be the Greek Assyrtiko from The island of Crête. Lyrarakis Voila 2018 for £9.99. Another great fish wine combining the brightness and crispness from being grown up in the cooler Cretian hills with the richness of the long days of warm sunshine. The Assyrtiko grape is well worth discovering for those who haven’t drunk it before.
For those who want the big gutsy weight of a new world wine, I would recommend Tyrrell’s Vat 1, Hunter Valley Sémillon 2014. Big white wine, rich and long with lovely complexity and a bright cleansing finish. From Majestic at £29.99.
Finally if you prefer a fresh Pilsner style lager, look no further than Brewdog’s Lost Lager. Citrusy bright maltiness underpinned by palate cleansing crisply bitter hops.
I hope that offers you plenty of choice for these wonderful seafood dishes. Enjoy!
