We like proper dry Marlborough Sauvignon blancs, full stop. We drink little else. The 'reserve' is often too round for us still (e.g. Devil's Creek regular great, Devil'd Creek reserve less so). This Wairau Cove is our go to wine since about 2 years now.

Pale straw in colour. Fruit driven, with a tropical nose of good intensity. Medium to full palate with hints of citrus, kiwi, pineapple and stone fruit, medium to high acidity and very good extract and depth, 12% alcohol.

A '3.5 star' at best. Only drink when wine is well chilled. Taste very different & not particularly good as flavour changes drastically for the worse when allowed to gain any temperature. How Tesco can ever purport this bulk delivered in tanker wine, which they then bottle themselves to be a £12.49 wine which through the goodness of their heart they sometimes reduce to under £6.00, I'll never understand. Should be no more than £6.50 at tops (always). Plenty of better New Zealand sauvignon-blancs out there at a less or similar price.

I bought this on recommendation a while back and absolutely love it! I keep my eyes open and try to stock up when it drops to the bargain sub-six-pounds price Tesco offer it for occasionally. Very light, sharp and clean. Perfect for summer drinking in the garden. Buy it! In fact, don't! Leave it for me!
