Ah Tempranillo, the grape responsible for many of the great Riojas and almost certainly the grape you've tasted if you've ever had a popular Spanish red. This wine, if it was from Rioja, would be known as a Joven (meaning young). The young wines from this grape are expressive and fruity. It displays ample cherry and plum in particular. A nice lick of spice throughout the wine brings some complexity whilst the smooth tannin makes it easy drinking and approachable.
