The grapes were grown by the Hardy’s in their K1 Vineyard at Kuitpo and machine picked in the cool of the night to get them off the vine and into the winery as swiftly as possible. The free run juice was separated and fermented as cold as possible in a stainless tank before a brief rest prior to bottling in July of the same year. This little "rascal", if directly translated from Piedmontese, is a fresh, cooling menagerie of summer stone fruits and melon. Fresh pears are countered with a tartness of freshly squeezed pomegranate. It was a very drinkable wine in its youth and is even more enjoyable now with a touch of age.
