This wine has won a number of awards in New Zealand for the Rose family, who in the late 1970's planted their vineyards on the banks of the Wairau River, Marlborough, in the north of South Island.
These Wairau wines are now famous particularly for the Chardonnays and Sauvignon Blancs.
Sunday Bay is one of their ranges, and has all the class of the best wines from the region, although perhaps a touch gentler than some.
The wine is crisp, bright and clean. It has a lovely tropical fruit character, a hint of passion fruit and white peach, and a fresh finish of fresh mown grass and citrus.
This wine will be perfect with shell fish such as dressed crab, but will go with most fish dishes. A real crowd-pleaser.
