Wine PENFOLDS - The Bin 169 Cabernet Sauvignon reflects the contemporary approach to winemaking, emphasising both the terroir and the maturation of the Cabernet Sauvignon in fine-grained French oak barrels. The Penfolds style is immediately recognisable, but this wine also illustrates the ongoing search for diversity and separation of styles. Typical of the region, it is a testament to Penfolds' enduring commitment to the vineyards of Coonawarra. The vintage has intense, fragrant notes on the nose. The aromas are reminiscent of crêpe Suzette with a hint of orange (Grand Marnier). On the palate, red fruits invade: raspberry, cranberry, redcurrant, rhubarb and a little blackcurrant. No deficit in the mid-palate, the acidity and delicacy of this Cabernet blossom deliciously. A perfect balance between richness and body. It has superb length.
