This expression from the Kentucky distillery takes Maker's Mark and finishes it in barrels with 10 "seared" French oak staves in the coolest part of the warehouse, giving a bigger and bolder character than before. A collaboration between Bill Samuels Jr. and Brad Boswell of Independent Stave, the cooperage that had made Maker's Mark barrels since its founding in 1953, Maker's 46 is named for the 46th iteration of the recipe, the one that was eventually chosen.
