Syrah is a very versatile grape, thriving in hot climates to make rich, sweet-fruited wines but, when grown carefully in cooler climates like Kamptal of Austria, the result is something quite different, more complex aromatics and more freshness but still with Syrah's trademark tannins that make this a joy to pair with food. It's also a very age worthy style so 'one for now and one for the cellar' would be our advice!
