One of Italys secret treasures, Picolit is a white wine grape indigenous to Friuli that makes dessert wines of the highest DOCG status. Historically, Picolit had a worldwide reputation in the 18th century when it was featured in royal courts across Europe. By the mid-19th century, it was undoubtedly Italy's most prestigious wine. It is now making a comeback and we have chosen one of the finest producers, Rodaro, to bottle the Fortnum's example. Delicate, yet full-flavoured, with notes elegant honey, raisins, dried apricot, fig, fruit syrup and peach. It has a well-balanced acidity and beautiful structure, leading to a very persistent seductive finish. The wine is the perfect match for stilton, foie gras and fruity desserts. 11% ABV
