From the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune vineyards, where winemakers like Sebastien Magnien are showcasing just how good this (often less thought of) area of Burgundy can be. This wine fuses good depth of fruit power with elegance, minerality and charm. The oak is perfectly managed and you can squirrel a bottle away for an occasion down the line, as it’ll age gracefully for a few years in bottle. We’re not going to say that this is a bargain, because it is still a penny shy of £30 a bottle. However, the scarcity and demand for wines, from this most illustrious part of France, make it good value and it really is a very special bottle of wine.
