Lirac lies on the western side of the Rhône River, just across from Châteauneuf du Pape. So if you're looking for an upmarket Rhône red and want to be savvy with your money, then this is the wine for you! Just like its more famous neighbour this wine is comprised from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Notes of violets and plums are on the nose, with wet stone minerality and lots of tapenade and fennel. The palate is rich but impeccably balanced, with a fine thread of acidity that lasts to the very finish. This is a very long, very complex red.
