De Martino has embarked on a noble mission to rescue some of Chile's oldest bush vine vineyards from extinction. The Las Cruces ('the crosses') vineyard was planted in 1957 and the resulting wine is a blend of the whole harvest. The majority is Malbec, a third Carmenere plus a melange of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Carignan and Cinsault. We are truly lucky for all the work put in by these guys. Full and rich with layers of damson fruit and an almost crunchy mid palate. Drinking now but will happily cellar.
