"A strong effort for Lascombes, the 2006 is a blend of 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot. The harvest lasted nearly a month, from September 21 through October 19, and under the new ownership (which recently put this property up for sale), a severe triage was done prior to fermentation. The 2006 exhibits a deep ruby/purple color along with aromas of licorice, candied black cherries, blackberries, smoke, and barbecue spices. Surprisingly opulent, soft, and racy, but not as profoundly concentrated or dense as the 2005, this beautifully perfumed, silky-textured Margaux is ideal for drinking over the next 12-15 years."
