Camel Valley Bacchus Dry Tasting Notes by Wine Expert, David Andrews, DipWSET
Camel Valley recently (2024) received a Royal Warrant from Charles and Camilla which might give you some idea of their quality. Those Warrant's do not come easily, especially as Camilla only gave out 7! They are based in Cornwall which has the distinction of being England’s warmest region, which means their wines have a marked difference from Kent and Sussex.
This Bacchus won Gold at the 2009 International Wine Challenge and has come on leaps and bounds since. As you'd expect (and want) from Bacchus, it's fresh and fruity, but where it shines is the emulation of quality white of this nature like Sancerre. I found elderflower, grapefruit, nettle and zippy citrus fruits all helped build this into a delicious and intense wine.
