This wine is a delicious celebration of two important Cape wine producing regions: Swartland and the Breede River Valley. The Grenache Blanc grapes which are used in this blend come from the hot and extremely dry conditions of Swartland. The lack of water here leads to smaller yields of more-concentrated fruit - which is why this region specialises in making rich, fruit-driven wines. Ryno then expertly blends this concentrated juice with Breedekloof Chenin Blanc. This part of the Breede River Valley greatly benefits from cooling afternoon shadows from the Slanghoek Mountains which tempers the afternoon heat, letting grapes retain their fresh acidity while still developing ripe fruit flavours. It is a perfect combination which gives this wine harmony and impact.
