Clark Hill is one of the iconic vineyards of McLaren Vale. We're not sure where the name has come from as it looks pretty flat out that way but either way it's without doubt one of the regions finest. The grapes were open fermented with regular plunging and pumping. A portion was drained off early to finish fermenting in new oak, the remainder left on skins until dry, before 14 months in mixed oak to marry up the fruit, soften some of the intensity and generally turn it into the ripper of a red it is today.
