Cocooned by mountains, the Waitaki Valley lies 40km inland from the Pacific Ocean on the southern flanks of the Waitaki River. The warm north-facing vineyard consists of ancient, rich white limestone soils, interlaced with river gravels which allows the Pinot Noir grapes to perfectly ripen in this southerly latitude and produce wines that express the unique character of this chalky terrior. The sumptuous palate of the Tatty Bogler offers baked rhubarb, damson and savoury notes, with a strong backbone of fine-grained tannins and focused acidity. It's nicely integrated, complex, with excellent balance and persistent length. Simply stunning!
