Chianti is a household name and with good reason. These wines don't get a good rep without some good heritage, but unfortunately there are too many cheap imitations that blur the perception of what it should be. Which is exactly why you need to splash out once in a while and get the best, as a reminder of why it became famous in the first place. Riecine's Chianti Classico is bang on the money, the classic red cherry and violets jumping out of the glass, and the brightest acidity on the palate lifting those flavours even further. It's typically a wine for food (not least a good old Spag Bol) but it's worth drinking alone to fully engage with it.
