75cl / 12% - In the days of the Iron Curtain and Cold War, Michael Wenzel’s father and grandfather smuggled historic clones of Furmint grapes from Hungary. Now widely-known as the pioneer of this grape in Austria, the winery uses this varietal along with Blaufrankish grapes for this wine. On the nose there are aromas of red berries , thyme and rosemary, with a hint of leather and black cherry, complemented by notes of grippy bright fruit and fresh blackcurrant leaf on the palate.
