This youthful, bright Burgundian Chardonnay is made exclusively for Marks & Spencer by the winemaker Georges Brichon of Cave de Prissé in south Burgundy. This wine has be fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks instead of the oak barrels used so often for Chardonnay, so it has a fresh, dry and relatively light appeal.
It makes a refreshing dry aperitif, but also has enough fruity flavour to pair up well with roast or grilled poultry in creamy sauces and most fish and seafood dishes, especially fresh salmon. Serve chilled, around 8-9°C.
This wine is ready to drink now, and it will be at its best while it is young and zesty, so drink it within a year of purchase. Once opened, the wine will remain in good condition for up to 2 days if you reseal the bottle and keep it in the fridge.
