Bursting with notes of freshly cut grass, lemon zest, tropical fruits, and saline minerality, this is classic New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. The fruits were harvested from the esteemed Marlborough region, a rugged piece of land where the Loveblock winery makes its home.
Loveblock was founded by the Crawfords, a husband and wife winemaking duo. Erica is South African and Kim is a New Zealander – the two met while working at Backsberg Estate in South Africa, before moving back to Kim’s home region of Waikato. After building and selling their first hugely successful wine brand over a span of nine years, Loveblock is their passion project. It’s a sustainable family winery, based in the heart of Marlborough.
In the mouth, this Sauvignon Blanc is suitably vibrant, with stunning acidity and fresh notes of citrus zest, pineapple, and basil. It hails from one vineyard, Woolshed, which is located on the Loveblock Farm. Separate portions of the grapes were fermented in different vessels, including concrete eggs, amphorae, stainless steel tanks, and French oak barrels. This refreshing dry white is perfect for pairing with seafood, crisp summer salads, or soft cheese.
