Wine ZORAH - Perhaps one of the oldest grape varieties in the world, Areni has been present in Armenia for thousands of years. Never grafted and on its own roots, it is 100% indigenous to this land and with a unique DNA profile that matches no other. Extremely hardy, Areni Noir is perfectly adapted to the extreme climate of the Vayotz Dzor region where it originated in southern Armenia. This country is a specialist in high altitude viticulture, the vineyard of Zorah is located at more than 1400m, it is a phylloxera-free terroir with low vigour, on sandy, sub-alkaline soils, rich in limestone and large stones. On tasting, it reveals scents of black berries, herbs, pepper and anise. It has a lovely texture on the palate and is deep and rich, with ripe fruit and a silky touch. Finishes with good length, suggesting ageing potential. Goes very well with meat in sauce or spicy dishes.
