The Elgin Highlands, situated around 420 meters above sea level and just 3km from the Atlantic Ocean, provides a unique, cool climate and one that is perfectly suited to growing top-class grapes that enjoy these conditions. The focus at Iona is, not surprisingly, on Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and takes inspiration from the great cooler regions of France, whilst remaining true to the area they work in. This is a very classy red that combines power with elegance and the use of oak is masterful.
