It's my belief that ALL Whisky, provided it reaches minimum standard for legal sale, ,should be treated with respect. People should , of course , drink their Whisky in the way THEY like it, but the lower cost blends can often be put at the bottom of a glass of coke , or lemonade, and not appreciated for themselves. I don't drink them and then compare them to say a Glenfarclas single Malt.or a dearer Blend. I enjoy High Commissioner , on its own,and warmed in the hand, as with Brandy..A pleasant , light flavour, getting more complex as the spirit warms up. I would have this happily as an Aperatif.
