On the palate, it is deliciously soft and succulent, with ripe, rounded tannin and hints of caramel and toasted oak. Located on the boundary with Margaux, neigbouring Château Cantenac-Brown, Château de Villegeorge was purchased by Lucien Lurton in 1973, who eventually bequeathed it to his daughter Marie-Laure, who has been winemaker since 1986. Building on the quality afforded to the wines by the well-sited vineyard's deep gravel soils, the cellars have seen significant investment in recent years.
