Our most exciting white Burgundy find this year from an estate that's responsible for some of the most spine-tingling Meursaults we've ever tasted. Thierry Matrot makes wines without the use of new oak, preserving the purity of the classic Meursault fruit and this philosophy was ideally suited to the conditions in 2008. Very mineral nose with a lifted lemon balm fruit. Nicely understated with real balance and elegance. The palate has a scintillating greengage and slate character that reinforces brilliant winemaking.
