These vines, planted well over 100 years ago, sit on the prettiest site with the most unique soil structure. The unusually high concentration of clay here gives the wine a mineral character that simply cannot be forged. The vines, being an average of 125 years old, have a seriously deep root structure where they bring the nutrients back to the grapes from way below the surface. When weather conditions are right, the combination is perfect Grenache. And so the Cuvée Centenaire is only made when those conditions are just right, and as a celebration of the Rhône's most important grape.
