Wine Charles Gonnet - This year marks the first appearance of a Chignin Bergeron from the Savoie region (and in fact any wine from the Savoie) in a selection of the 50 Best In Show wines at the Decanter World Wine Awards. The nose is delightful with honeysuckle and nougatine, while the palate is equally charming with its cascade of honeyed almond aromas. Compare it with a Roussanne from the Rhône and you'll note the clear mountain freshness in the wine, and a gentle acidity reminiscent of apricot that really offers some lift and movement.
