Wine CHATEAU CLAUZET - This old but little-known Saint-Estèphe cru, owned by Maurice Velge, deserves the attention of wine lovers. The château, which has been completely restructured, notably with the acquisition of contiguous plots, now produces a regular and pleasant wine in its youth. The older vintages also show its capacity for ageing and, in the great vintages, it is capable of rubbing shoulders with the best: an excellent bargain for wine lovers. The Clauzet offers a rich, opulent nose of still-fresh red fruit, black cherry and blueberry, as well as floral notes. The palate is juicy and crisp, with supple but well-structured tannins. The finish is long and fresh.
