Bread & Butter believes that good wine doesn’t have to be complicated. They made their name first in the classic regions of California, but here winemaker Linda Trotta has worked with respected Grupo Peñaflor in Argentina to create a stellar Malbec in the signature B&B style. Grapes were hand-harvested from semi-desert Mendoza vineyards skirting 1,100m above sea level, where abundant sunshine and scarce rainfall ripens them perfectly. Deliciously juicy notes of blackberry and plum are balanced by well-integrated oak ageing that adds hints of vanilla. Well-structured and rounded, this wine is a natural match for steak or stuffed mushrooms.
