This is a great little blend, using one of Piemonte's flagship varieties, Barbera, to express the intense red fruit that so many northern Italian red grapes can offer. But the small addition of some special Pinot Noir, or Pinot Nero to the locals, gives this racy little Rosé a touch of ripeness and generosity, just softening the edge of the redcurrant and cranberry character that results in a wine that is complete with or without food.
