Fortnum & Mason at Christmas – Make it Special
Fortnum’s is well known for its Christmas charm, whether it is the way they turn their entire store front into a giant advent calendar with numbered windows, the internal décor galore and the seasonal delights, this is one place you ought to visit for your Christmas shop. Of course, we can’t all make the trek into central London but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be able to experience that Fortnum charm at home. Cue their online Christmas shop!
A range of wicker-basket hampers stuffed with exceptional Christmas snacks, drinks, and more will greet you, alongside decorations you’ll be bringing out for years to come, Christmas crackers you won’t groan at, Advent Calendars and gifts. You make it here, you won’t need to look anywhere else…or want to!
I’m going to give you a brief insight into the magical season they create and recommend some must have’s for those who like a bit of a tipple with their festivities!
These are the ultimate Christmas gift hampers - they don’t even have to be gifts if you fancy one too. Whether celebrations are big or small this year, don’t miss your chance to indulge in Xmas nibbles, fizz and everything else from incredible teas, wine and Champagne to seriously good biscuits, puddings, condiments and cheeses.

The Fortnum's Wine Hamper
- x 6 Reds
- x 5 Whites
- x 1 Fortnum's Prosecco Valdobbiadene
This wouldn’t be a wine blog without a wine only hamper. The 12 bottles here are more than enough to see you through the day and every style of wine you could want, with fizz, fresh and crisp whites and mostly medium-bodied reds. These styles are perfect for a Turkey.
The Sparkling Quartet Hamper
- Fortnum's Brut Reserve Champagne
- Fortnum's Prosecco Valdobbiadene
- Fortnum's Cremant d'Alsace
- Fortnum's Sparkling Tea
Pretty much every Christmas ought to be toasted with a glass of fizz. And this Hamper has them all. Champagne for the toast, Cremant for the food, Prosecco for something lighter afterwards, and tea for the drivers or teetotallers. And trust me, the sparkling tea is remarkably good so even the drinkers will want a piece.
The Champagne & Port Gift Box
- Fortnum's Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut Champagne
- Fortnum's LBV Port
This is simple but sums up a good Christmas in a box. A delicious Blanc de Noirs with depth and richness to kick the day off, followed by a Niepoort Port to match cheese and dessert. Simple yes, delicious, even more so.
Time is really ticking down to the opening of Advent Calendars now. I’ve had a few different kinds in recent years: beer, wine, whisky and always a chocolate one to compliment of course. Fortnum’s do most things a little differently and these are no exception. The chocolate only one is filled with extremely good truffle flavours, they have one for tea, one for tea & biscuits, reusable and wonderfully themed calendars and even one for your dog. How sweet.
Fortnum's Feasting Advent Calendar
Most of them are self-explanatory but this is probably my favourite for the sheer variety and mini bottle of Champagne.
Each treat will really elevate your day on during the build up, whether it’s the fig and fennel chutney for your sandwiches, Christmas tea biscuits to dip when you’re home from work, or quarter bottle of Champagne to enjoy on the weekend, you’ll have plenty to fuel you through December.
Their collection of Christmas wine & Christmas spirits really sets the festive mood with delicious bubbles, plenty of port and seasonal liquers and gins. Plus, enjoy a tempting selection of fine wines, mulled wine and cider or even a Christmas Pudding Madeira. I’ve picked the three most tasty, funky and seasonal to my mind, but do check them all out as the list was quite hard to make!
Fortnum's Christmas Pudding Madeira
Madeira is seriously underrated and a worthy rival to tawny port and sherry.
Sweetness meets oxidative notes of toffee, caramel, nuts and chocolate which is lifted by a nice soft spice. This Madeira is a blend of a very old barrel with younger wine creating a heady mix between the two styles with the richness of age freshened by the youthful wine. Truly a match for your Xmas pud.
Fortnum's Mulled Cider with English Cassis
Mulled Cider is something I rarely think about but truth be told it’s an excellent Winter warmer.
This is the Fortnum’s Devon Vintage Cider infused with festive flavours like ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and star anise, enlivened with the addition of cassis. This is one merry addition to your Christmas period.
Fortnum's Figgy Pudding Liqueur
If you’ve had figgy pudding, you know what this will taste like. Now, it’s just in liquid form with a nice alcoholic kick.
Dried fruit, mixed spice, fig, cinnamon and nutmeg all blend in perfect harmony. It’s worth noting that an entire figgy pudding has gone into each batch too! This, of course, culminates in an excellent companion to your own figgy pud.
I suspect by this point you may have been unable to resist adding a few of these into your basket, and why not? It’s Christmas and time to pull out the stops, make it memorable and incredibly tasty. Make sure that whatever you do, you have a bit of Fortnum’s supremely festive sparkle during your festive celebrations.
Have a Fortnum’s Christmas! >
